Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has confirmed the signing of former AC Milan and Real Madrid striker Ronaldo is off the agenda.

"A couple of months ago we were in preliminary talks with his advisers," Hughes said. "The people surrounding him were keen to press his case while he was trying to get back to full fitness. I don't think he's fully fit even as we speak now. They were sounding out clubs who were interested in his situation. We had those discussions, but we won't be pursuing it."
