Manchester City boss Mark Hughes anticipates signing Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez this week.

Hughes said: "I admire Tevez very much. I like the way he approaches the game.

"We need good players at City who will take us to the next level and that's what we are acquiring. We have got real strong-minded, good players who will drive the club from within as well.

"We have got to make sure that the players we're bringing in now are the right quality who will enable us to be successful.

"I have been very happy with the players I have been able to bring in and we're in the market for top players when they become available."
