Man City boss Hughes insists no lingering row with Arsenal's Cesc

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes insists he has no lingering problem with Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

The pair famously clashed on the touchline after an FA Cup tie between Sparky's former club Blackburn and Arsenal two years ago.

Fabregas claimed he was surprised to hear Hughes had a spell at the Nou Camp, as his team 'did not play Barcelona football'. He later apologised.

Hughes said: "Fabregas is a great player. He has an edge to his game I think great players have but which sometimes will possibly get them into trouble.

"Yet that edge sometimes makes a difference between someone being just a good player and a great player." Looking back to that FA Cup fifth-round clash in 2007, Hughes added: "We crossed words. In fairness to him, he hung around for about 20 minutes to apologise. He didn't have to do that."
