Man City boss Hughes doesn't expect Robinho to see Brazil action

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes doesn't expect Robinho to see action for Brazil next week.

Robinho is now doing "field-based work" as he closes in on a return to action after more than two months out with a stress fracture of the ankle.

Hughes, though, appears resigned to letting Robinho go to meet up with his Brazil team-mates ahead of the international break, even though he has warned he is not match ready.

"Hopefully he will start to step up his training next week, and it is a case of getting him match fit because he's not fit," said Hughes.

"He's got international matches next week and the likelihood is he will have to meet up and get checked out by the doctors.

"Obviously it would be wrong for him to play."

Sounds like Mark Hughes is none too sure what rent a quote will actually do.
