Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola expects Lionel Messi to sign a new deal with Barcelona.
With his current deal expiring at the end of the season, an extension has still not been announced by either the player or club.
When asked about the possibility of his former star man renewing his deal, Guardiola's response was blunt and to the point.
"That's what we all want," said the Citizens coach.
Meanwhile, Guardiola singled out Raheem Sterling for special praise, for how he has performed so far this season and the fact he's currently occupying the club's top scorer spot.
"I would have been surprised if you had told me in August that he would be the top goalscorer but Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus haven't played in every game," he added.
"If they had, then I'm sure they would have scored more but it is a good sign.
"He's recording some of the best figures of his career and it is only November.
"He doesn't put too much pressure on himself and that's a good thing, because when you are only focused on playing then the goals will come."
