Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk and Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker are his main targets.
Lyon defensive midfielder Corentin Tolisso is also being watched.
Guardiola expects a major scrap for Sanchez with Chelsea also monitoring the Chile star's contract stand-off.
The City chief, who worked with Sanchez at Barcelona, said: “How do big clubs improve their teams?
Better players. So, of course, big clubs around the world are going to know his situation."
