Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has shrugged off his Manager of the Month award.

Guardiola admits he prefers to focus on team trophies.

"It's okay. Thank you," was his initial response to setting September alight in the Premier League with four wins comprising 17 goals and none in reply.

Asked to expand he added: “It's good. Thank you very much to the Premier League. But obviously the ones who win it are the ones who are on the pitch, the players.

“If you win, you have more chances to win the award. At the end of the day, you depend on your players. I am very grateful, nothing special - just thanks to the Premier League."
