Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has called on Steven Gerrard's former England teammates to follow him into management.
Liverpool legend Gerrard was confirmed Rangers manager on Friday.
Guardiola said: “It is important for English players like Gerrard, Frank Lampard or (John) Terry or Scholes or Michael Carrick.
“It's so important being in football.
“It's so important because they can help this amazing game and make it more beautiful.
“There are exceptional managers who were not football players before. But I admire his (Gerrard's) courage to do that huge challenge, to go to Rangers.
“To make that step makes a good signal for the young managers. I wish him all the best.“
