Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is tightlipped on their interest in Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
Guardiola says the competition in the transfer market is big and players normally choose Real Madrid and Barcelona faster than City. City must therefore be "fast and efficient".
Asked about competing for De Jong, Guardiola continued: "The club knows that it has become more expensive for all clubs. It is what it is.
"But I'm not going to talk about the Ajax player, because he is an Ajax player."
