Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has ruled out releasing Phil Foden for loan in January.
Guardiola is adamant Foden has a big future at the Etihad and is determined to keep a close eye on his development this season.
"He's training with us," said the Catalan. “He's not going to move this season. No loan in January.
“We feel we need him. Maybe he's going to play.
“Maybe he'll help us in the future to achieve what we want."
Foden was named Rising Star at the North West Football Awards this week.
Guardiola added: “Before he becomes a rising star, he has to be a rising player. And after he can become a star.
“He deserves this award - he was the best player at the U17 World Cup."
