Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is not entirely happy that Gael Clichy popped up on the right wing to grab himself a goal against Swansea City on Wednesday night.
City continued their brilliant start to the season with a 2-1 EFL Cup third round victory over Swansea at the Liberty Stadium and left-back Clichy was one of the unlikely scorers during the clash for the Citizens.
Clichy had found himself on the right side of the area when his deflected shot beat Kristoffer Nordfeldt but despite the defender grabbing a goal, Guardiola is not overly pleased that the Frenchman ventured out of position.
Guardiola said: "That is not my philosophy. The left back scoring in the position of the right winger - no.
"But football is football and they have to move sometimes.
"Gael's instinct is go there. It's important if one player goes there that another has to cover his position. When this happens it's not a big problem, but that is not normal."
