Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has put in a call to Victor Valdes.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper was released by Manchester United at the end of last season.

Valdes and Guardiola won everything in the game at Barca and the latter wants the goalkeeper to join him at the Etihad.

El Mundo Deportivo says the City boss has spoken to Valdes over the phone about joining City as cover for Joe Hart.

Valdes also has offers from Spain and is interesting new Everton boss Ronald Koeman.
