Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola agrees with Manchester United rival Jose Mourinho over his opinion of the Carabao Cup.

Mourinho stated this week that he feels the competition is damaging the chances of English teams in Europe.

And Guardiola – whose City team also reached the fourth round this week – can see that point of view.

Asked if he agreed with his old sparring partner, Pep said: – “My view is quite similar. So business is business. We have a lot of games.

“If you have to play in a competition you have to play in it.

“It's good for the people you don't use a lot.

“It's a prize where, when you win, it's OK, but after that the people don't give too much credit.

"I think the prize is good when you win another one but you waste a lot of energy."
