Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson admits he's still to hear from chairman Thaksin Shinawatra about his transfer budget going into the New Year.

"I have heard rumours about how much money I will have to spend but I don't believe it will be £150million," he said. "That would be impossible.

"But whatever the figure is, we are not just going to go out and buy someone purely because we have money.

"We will only buy players if they would improve the team and to do that they must be top quality."
