Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson expects Micah Richards to be fit for the closing weeks of the season.

Eriksson said: "Everything is fine with Micah. The doctors are very happy and everything is as it should be.

"I am hopeful that he will be able to join us again for the last couple of games of the season."

Eriksson will only allow Richards to play for his country when he feels is ready but as a former England manager he is sympathetic towards Capello's needs.

The City boss added: "Fabio Capello will have learned something about his players from the France game.

"I thought England did quite well in a game against one of the top sides in Europe, if not the world."
