Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has revealed he's discussed making a massive signing in the summer with chairman Thaksin Shinawatra.

He told City's website: "That is one of the things we discussed - if we take in an older player - and if we do it must be a big name, a very, very big name who can fill the Stadium.

"At this moment we haven't contacted any clubs yet. It was a good meeting because now we know more or less what kind of players we want to take in. And we want to try and do that.

"Hopefully the fans will see some new faces next season but it's too early to talk about that. The important thing coming out of the meeting was that it's clear that the targets are 'this' and 'this'."
