Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson will read Martin Petrov the riot act after his dismissal on Monday night against Everton.
Petrov, 29, was sent off for kicking out at Leon Osman having just missed Yakubu with a kung-fu kick moments earlier.
He will now miss the games with Wigan, Reading and Spurs.
And Eriksson said: "It needs more than just a word from me with Martin now because we lose him for three games and that is hard for us."
