Sven Goran Eriksson won't commit to Benfica until he is formally sacked by Manchester City chairman Thaksin Shinawatra.

Eriksson met Benfica chiefs on Wednesday and a source close to him told The Sun: "Sven's in no hurry.

"He wants to wait until the end of the season and see what Shinawatra's mood will be."

Eriksson stands to pick up a £5million pay-off if he is fired.
