Man City boss Eriksson: I have big cash to spend

Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson insists his frustration in not landing a new striker has nothing to do with finances.

"It's a question of where the men I want play their football," he revealed before City's 1-1 draw with Derby last night. "Big clubs do not want to let big players go at this time of the year. We are still trying but if we are not successful we will try to do the deals in the summer.

"I don't think we will run out of players because we have Daniel Sturridge now, Bojinov will be back soon and so will Michael Johnson."

So far the January window has seen more players leave than come in to Eastlands fuelling the suspicion that owner Thaksin Shinawatra had not provided enough funding early enough in the window.
