The People says the Swede confessed to a group of well-heeled supporters at a lunch to celebrate his first six months in charge at Eastlands: "Yes, I hope to manage Sweden one day maybe and that would be a great honour for me.

"They have a good manager in Lars Lagerback so they don't need me. Sweden have qualified for all major tournaments since 1992, which is a great achievement."
