Man City boss Eriksson goes for Bolton's Anelka

Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is moving for Bolton Wanderers striker Nicolas Anelka.

Anelka's desire to leave Bolton Wanderers is no secret and Eriksson, who has lost the Bulgarian striker Valeri Bojinov to a serious knee injury, is aware of a £9m release clause in the Frenchman's contract.

The City manager smiled and said "No comment" when asked about Anelka yesterday but said he was "99.9% sure" a new striker would join the club before the end of the transfer window.
