Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has revealed he expects to announce a number of new signings in the coming days.

The Swede admitted after a 2-0 victory against Shrewsbury in a friendly there may be "two or three new faces" on the payroll within the next couple of days.

Striker Valeri Bojinov has claimed he is moving from Fiorentina to join fellow Bulgarian Martin Petrov at Eastlands.

There is also speculation that defenders Javi Garrido and Vedran Corluka are also about to come on board from Real Sociedad and Dinamo Zagreb as well as midfielder Elano from Shakhtar Donetsk .

Eriksson, however, is keeping his cards close to his chest but could strengthen his squad before the friendly against Valencia on Saturday.

"There could be two, maybe three new faces, " he said.

"But I do not want to comment too much. Perhaps there may be something to say tomorrow.

"Something has to happen soon as the league is about to start."
