Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is delighted with the early impact made by January signings Nery Castillo, Felipe Caicedo and Benjani Mwaruwari.
Eriksson beamed: "I thought Nery was very good and very lively, particularly in the first-half. I think with a bit more luck he could have scored a couple of goals but he is still adapting to the Premier League.
"Caicedo came on and did well, too, and has done some things in training that have grabbed everyone's attention.
"And we shouldn't forget our other new boy Benjani. He was brilliant, working hard all the time and moving the defenders around.
"It was nice to see us score from a set piece against Spurs and the win was extremely important not just for the players but for the supporters too. Their heads may have gone down had we lost the game. But everyone on and off the pitch showed good spirit and hopefully it was a small turning point."
