Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is coy over their push for CSKA Moscow striker Jo Alves.

He told City's website: "I don't know. He is a good player, that's for sure, but I don't want to comment on that.

"He's still playing for CSKA Moscow so it's not right to speak about that now.

"In general, if we are going to sign players for next season and make this squad better then they must be world class players.

"We have a very good team, I think, but if we want to take one step further then we have to take in top class players.

"We have spotted all the players we are interested in and we are looking in Britain as well. To take them when the window is open and as quickly as possible is the intention."
