Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is convinced he will sign Newcastle United striker Michael Owen.
The Mirror says Eriksson is confident of getting his man in the January transfer window after stepping up his attempts to sign the England striker within the last few days.
Owen has made just 20 League starts and scored nine goals following his arrival from Real Madrid, but Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce has been frustrated by the player's injuries.
Eriksson has made it clear he is desperate to sign him for City and has remained a huge fan since managing him with England.
