Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson hopes Nery Castillo can prove his value to fans in the closing games of this season.

Eriksson told City's website: "I have checked on the statistics, and since he came he has only trained in half the training sessions he could have done because of injuries.

"He had his shoulder injury, then there was a calf problem and I doubt that when he arrived that he was fully fit. He has a lot to do, but I believe in him for the future and you will see him more times in the league this season."
