Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has admitted his great admiration for Bolton Wanderers striker Nicolas Anelka.

The Frenchman has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester United or Chelsea as well as City, where he is still the club's most expensive signing following his near £13m move from Paris St Germain during Kevin Keegan's reign.

"Anelka is a fantastic footballer," Eriksson said. "Anyone who loves football must admit that.

"He is one of those players who has everything. He has technique, pace and can score goals. What more would you want from a striker?"
