Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has given his backing to young defender Stefan Savic.
The 21-year old has been criticised after his recent shaky performances in the 3-2 league win over Tottenham and the 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the Carling Cup semi-final second leg in the absence of captain Vincent Kompany.
Mancini says the former Partizan Belgrade man is a 'good' player but does admit there is some improvement to be made.
"Stefan should be quiet. He is a good player but he needs to improve.""Stefan is a young player and when you are young, you can be in trouble for nothing," said Mancini.
