Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is targeting Ajax midfielder Hedwiges Maduro.
The youngster is off contract at Ajax in the summer and has refused to discuss terms over a new deal.
Eriksson wants to bring Maduro to City in January and has the backing of chairman Thaksin Shinawatra to splash out on the Holland U21 captain.
