Manchester City are favourites for Watford goalkeeper Scott Loach.
The Herald says Roberto Mancini, the City manager, is already looking for back-up for English international Joe Hart and is ready to swoop for Watford's highly-rated Loach when the transfer window re-opens.
Tottenham Hotspur have already had two bids for the 22-year-old knocked back, but City are now prepared to meet manager Malky Mackay's asking price of £3m.
