Man City battling to hold onto Liverpool, Arsenal target Johnson

Manchester City are battling to hold onto young midfielder Michael Johnson.

The Sunday Mirror says Johnson's advisers are understood to be ready to demand he be paid £50,000 per week, less than a year after he signed his current deal.

That will lead to an impasse that will encourage Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez. Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle are also watching developments.
