Manchester City attacker Craig Bellamy wants to put down roots at Cardiff City.
Bellamy has declared he hopes to play out his career with the Welsh giants.
Of last week's stunning debut, he told the Sunday Mirror: "I had butterflies in my stomach. The nerves kicked in, but for me that was a good thing.
"I've played in bigger stadiums, in the Champions League in front of huge crowds -but I don't think I have ever felt so nervous as I did stand in the tunnel last Saturday. I know I am only on loan for the season but ultimately I would like to stay at Cardiff.
"If the team are successful and I perform on the pitch it gives me a much better chance of staying.
"I would love to spend the rest of my career here.
"But that in itself brings added pressure. If things don't go well then neither the club nor I can justify me staying here.
"I have to be realistic. A lot depends on how I play and how we do as a team.
"Automatic promotion is what we are aiming for - and from what I have seen so far, I can see no reason why that isn't achievable."
