Manchester City are prepared to bid for Barcelona star Lionel Messi this summer.
The Sun says City want Messi to join up with incoming manager Pep Guardiola in the summer.
The Spanish manager will join City in the summer on a three-year deal and is eager to bring in the world's best player to enhance the Etihad club's chances of European glory.
City have been in touch with Messi's advisors and have been encouraged enough to believe a deal can be struck.
A deal for the 28-year-old Barcelona forward would cost City in the region of £120million.
