Man City again closing in on Porto's Fernando

Manchester City are reportedly confident that they will land FC Porto's Fernando this summer.

Manuel Pellegrini's City went after the 26-year old Brazilian defensive midfielder in January but were unsuccessful in their £40million bid which also included his teammate Eliaquim Mangala.

The Mirror is reporting that City have made a breakthrough regarding a £20m single transfer for Fernando who had a release clause inserted into the contract he signed recently.

The former Vila Nova man is under contract with the Portuguese giants until June 2017 but City are believed to be poised to lure him to the Etihad Stadium.
