Manchester City winger David Silva admits being man-marked by Everton was a new experience.

Silva must have half-expected Jack Rodwell to follow him into the dressing room at the interval such was the close attention paid to him all afternoon.

The twinkle-toed Spaniard sighed: "It's true, he did not leave me alone - it's strange to mark like that in the Premier League. It was a new experience for me - one that's not happened since I was young.

"I don't know if it's a compliment but I was obviously in their plans."
