Man City ace Robinho laughs off Man Utd link

Manchester City star Robinho has laughed off reports linking him with Manchester United.

With Old Trafford idol Cristiano Ronaldo in Real Madrid's sights, journalists confronted Robinho at Brazil's training camp in Teresopolis, near Rio de Janeiro, following reports he was on United's radar.

"United?" said the 25-year-old. "I don't know anything about that. At the moment, everything is speculation."

Santos president Marcelo Teixeira has made an unlikely pitch to bring the forward back, without giving much indication as to how he would pay for a player City signed for £34million from Real Madrid less than a year ago.

But Robinho has no intention of following the example of Brazil strikers Ronaldo, Adriano and Fred, who have all returned home this year.

"My goal is to stay at City and in Europe," he said. "As soon as the transfer window opens, teams want to hire.

"Those who aren't doing well want reinforcements, those who are want to keep what they have. It is normal."
