Manchester City star Robinho is determined to clear his name after being arrested following allegations of rape.

Team-mates have rallied around the £34million British-record signing and Robinho played the full 90 minutes in City's 2-1 victory against Newcastle United at Eastlands last night.

"I'm innocent. I did nothing wrong," the 25-year-old told the Daily Star. "I do not know why she is saying these things against me.

"I will clear my name because this is causing hurt for my family in England and at home in Sao Paulo."
