Man City ace Houghton eager to make more history with England

England skipper Steph Houghton is looking forward to making more history in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Manchester City star Houghton scored the equaliser as the Lionesses came from behind to beat Norway 2-1 and they now face hosts Canada in the quarter-finals in Vancouver on Saturday.

"It's a fantastic feeling," said Houghton. "We showed great character.

"It's been a tough journey for us so far, but we definitely deserve to be in the next round and it's going to be great now to go and play the host nation in Vancouver in front of 50,000 fans.

"Those are the sort of games that everyone wants to play in and I'm really excited. This squad's ready for a massive game like that and we can't wait for the challenge.

"We'll probably be underdogs, but we'll go out to enjoy it and we've already shown in this tournament that we can play under pressure.

"That's what we did against Norway - we knew we could make history and we've done it, now do we can do it again on Saturday."
