Man City ace De Bruyne: I don't always feel supported by Belgium fans, media

Manchester City ace Kevin de Bruyne admits he doesn't feel fully appreciated by Belgium fans.

De Bruyne concedes the different midfield role asked of him by Belgium coach Roberto Martinez could be an influence on how national team fans see him.

He told One: "I now play as a defensive midfielder with the national team, which is a completely different role than in the beginning.

"I know I score less nor give assists, but my matches are ten times better. In my current position I have to try to dominate a match and give other people opportunities to do their thing.

"The irritating thing to me is that things are said to be wrong. 'He is not satisfied, he does not bet on himself, he does not play like Manchester City', I read. Such things give the outside world the impression that there is a problem, that there is always something with Kevin.

"But of course the Red Devils do not play in the same way as City. No one does that. I just want everyone - media, fans, players - to stand behind the team, while that is often just not the case in my eyes."
