Neither side could really break the shackles at the City of Manchester Stadium as bragging rights maintain up for grabs in the North West.

The draw put United back in second spot after third-placed Arsenal temporarily took the position but they slipped four points behind Chelsea who beat Fulham at home.

City managed to go four points clear of fifth-placed Newcastle who lost at home to Blackburn.
