Maloney not taking good Wigan start for granted

Wigan have made a strong start to their Premier League campaign, but midfielder Shaun Maloney is taking nothing for granted. Wigan lost to Chelsea but beat Southampton and drew against Stoke, with a comfortable Capital One Cup win over Nottingham Forest a further confidence boost.

"I think it's difficult to second guess where you're going to finish," Maloney said.

"If we don't work as hard as we did in the games against United, Arsenal, Chelsea and teams like that, then we don't win.

"If we continue to do that, we'll improve on last season but, if we don't, we'll find ourselves in the bottom half of the table again."
