Promising defender Osama Malik will miss North Queensland Fury’s vital clash with league leaders Brisbane Roar tomorrow night.
The 20-year old was a key figure in the Fury’s 1-0 win over Sydney FC on Wednesday night but has succumbed to a hamstring injury and is unlikely to take his place against the Roar according to coach Franz Straka.
"He has a problem with his hamstring and I don’t think he will play next game," Straka said.
The Czech tactician also highlighted the importance of the Roar fixture, especially after the Fury grabbed some momentum by climbing off the bottom of the table with their win during the week.
“This next game is big for us. It is going to be difficult to back up 48 hours later. It’s not enough but I hope we will do the best," he added.
"The team from Brisbane is so strong. If we want to beat them we have to be 100 percent fit and we may need a little bit of luck."
The Fury host the Roar at Dairy Farmers Stadium on Saturday night – kick-off is at 8:15pm local time (9:15pm AEDT).
