Empoli coach Gigi Cagni has been sacked.
The club's board have already announced that Cagni will be replaced by Alberto Malesani.
A stalemate with Torino brought the curtain down on Cagni's reign and left the experienced tactician puzzled with the club's decision.
"I don't understand how you can say that the team wasn't behind me when we played such a good second half against Torino," he lamented. "So many things could be said at this point, but I'd prefer to just accept the decision and say that my errors were decisive."
