AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini says he hasn't had any contact with club vice-president Adriano Galliani.

Maldini has been linked with a return to Milan.

"Galliani? We have been together for 25 years," he told Corriere dello Sport. "I was at Milan before he was.

"I think the experience of an ex-player can be important within a club, especially if that person has first-hand experience of the team.

"I am well aware though, that everyone has their own way of working and they want to surround themselves with people they trust.

"No one has ever tried to contact me.

"Of course I've met and spoke with Galliani over the years. But no, no one has asked me [to return]."
