Supporters of the Malaysian national team are urging Sydney FC youngster Brendan Gan to represent their nation.
The 22-year old is eligible to play for the Tigers because of his Malaysian heritage and it seems the fans are keen to have him involved.
“My inbox [on] Facebook is overflowing with messages from Malaysian fans who want me to come and play for them,'' he told the Sydney Morning Herald.
Although Gan admitted he had not been asked by the Football Association of Malaysia, he admits he would definitely consider it if it were ever the situation was ever to arise.
''There's been no contact so far from the Malaysian FA but I'd definitely be open to it,” he added.
Malaysia is currently ranked 150th on FIFA rankings and is coached by former national team player Krishnasamy Rajagobal.
