Malaga striker Roque Santa Cruz is ready to sign for Cruz Azul.

Upon arriving in the Mexican capital, the former Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers striker told the assembled press that: "negotiation points are well advanced" and that his presence in Mexico "suggests" that he has "the will to close the move".

"I'm very happy to be able to finish what I started" added Santa Cruz.

"There is a high level of understanding between both parties and I don't envisage any problems."
