Malaga are chasing QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt.
The People says former Real Madrid, Bolton and Spain star Fernando Hierro took over as director of football in the summer, and the Premier League midfielder is in his sights.
Attacking midfielder Taarabt, 22, has an £8m tag slapped on him by QPR in preparation for him leaving in the new year.
