Chelsea hero Claude Makelele has dismissed claims Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho can't relate to today's generation of footballers.

Makelele won the Premier League twice at Chelsea under Mourinho.

He told La Dernière Heure: "Mourinho, what amazed me with him is his ability to adapt to the mentality of the players.

"We must not forget that we are all getting older. On the other hand, the dressing room, he rejuvenates. We see the kids coming. There can be generation conflicts. Mourinho adapts to these things.
