New Hibs goalkeeper Yves Makalambay was delighted with victory over Hearts in their SPL kickoff this week.
The former Chelsea shot-stopper impressed on debut and said: "That was a great game and a good team performance overall.
"Football is my job, but it's entertainment. what would it be if you didn't enjoy your own work?" he asked. "Yeah, I have a smile on my face but I'm still focused. I don't forget that football is still a game. When you take football too seriously your life becomes miserable. I just enjoy my new life, my new team and the staff.
"I don't know if I [looked] laid-back but I didn't feel any pressure from the crowd. As soon as you go over the white line you are focused. It's only when there is a break in the game that you think 'oh, it's a sellout, it's a full house'. When you are playing you don't really feel the crowd. They could be insulting or abusing you but you won't hear it because you are focused on your own game. If you're not focused then you are going to start to hear what they are shouting. To be fair to the fans, it is their job to try and put us off. It's part of the game, the wonderful game."
