Columbus Crew defender Chad Marshall has been trialling with German Second Division Mainz. The reigning MLS Defender of the Year arrived late last week to train with the promotion chasers, playing in a friendly against Darmstadt on Tuesday.
Mainz coach Jorn Andersen has hinted Marshall did enough to warrant a contract offer.
